some ideas

I have some fantazmagorical ideas for my crafty friends and I to get together and make. I vow to make all my Christmas gifts...for all but Nick. I am planning a Christmas wreath making party...anyone interested? I am planning on getting my "craft" on atleast one day a week once school starts to get ready for the holidays. I am not making any progress for the craft fair...it's so busy these days. And it seems like I am selling what I am making...not that I'm complaining! lol...I also just purchased some really rockin red stools for my kitchen counter....thank you Stacey from blessed nest! You guys are an inspiration for me to blog more and put up some cool stuff on my page. I am also going through my pins and making some of the things I pinned....should be fun!!!! So in the coming weeks I plan on posting a schedule of events, so to speak, of all the crafts we can make for gifts if I can get some of my ladies to craft! That means you too Blessed Nesters!!! HOt Hot HoT!

Holy Hannah! It's hot!!! Thankfully my studio is cool....reaaaalllll cool! This week is VBS at our church so I am in the heat everyday this week! But only till noon thankfully! I have been getting some very awesome ideas from Pinterest! Anyone else addicted to that site??? I am! I love it! You can find anything on there! On another note...I'm Nick sick! He's been out in Ohio since the 4th and I won't see him until Monday the 23rd. I can't wait! This is the longest he's ever been away from home. We can't wait till we are all back together and life can get back to semi-normal! I am trying also to figure out the Linky Party on one of my favorite blogs...Embracing Change....I can't seem to follow directions right. And our summer is going very well. Hanging out with some of our dear friends and their kiddos! Sparklers all over and smores all yummy. Good stories and good laughs around the fire pit! Thanks Higgins'!!! And so much music fun with Frody Slamdunk and Ellie and the clan! Thanks guys! And while Nick is gone I totally re-did his bedroom! We got a Loft bed from our dear Stopyra's and we put it together and I decorated his room and made it so cool and fun for him. The best is he has no idea what we did! hahah...SUPRISE! Ahhhhh yes...I love suprises. So today is the half way point for VBS then it's off to Ohio and then back to work. I'm still waiting to re-vamp some more on my web-site.....maybe when it cools down! lol...ART ON!!!

Welcome Home!

The Haiti team is home! Thank you God for their safe return! I can't wait to see my friends tomorrow...by the way if any of my locals are looking for something to do tomorrow, come on over to Palmyra Park on Gumbletown Rd....Marc will be hosting a Praise and Worship hour. We are going to have a picnic lunch..bring your own...or you can join us at 5:30 for the music service! It should be a fun time! Hope we have good weather for it! Man I am missing my son! There...I said it! Lol...but I am getting a lot of painting done. Trying to find a store close to me that sells the Chalk Paint....then I'm going to start painting some of the furniture I've got! I forgot my camera last night otherwise there would be some pics on here of what I've been working on! Maybe later I will put them on here...whaddaya think? So excited...Art Tuesday is going to start this Tuesday at my very dear friend Lori's house! So excited!! Wish Nick was here to experience the fun! But I will do it for him! lol....well stay cool and...Art On!!!!

July???

Hello everyone! Hope your holiday was a "COOL" one. Literally..it was HOT! Well Nick is on vacation out in Ohio with his Grandparents. What to do...what to do?! Hahha...locking myself in my studio basement and not coming out till I am done! I have to thank all of my friends for all of their encouragement and kind words. I couldn't be happier that I am able to do what I love to do. I love to see all the Art going on with my friends and people I don't even know. I wish we could all get together and create because I think we'd make fabulous things! Anyway, I think I am going to start yard sale-ing...who's in? Need to find some interesting pieces to finish. And I need to find some Annie Sloan's Chalk Paint....I am hearing such good things. Also, if you are following this blog and know some good creative ideas, slap them on me! I am having a fun time learning how to blog and more fun creating things! Pics coming soon....as soon as I have time to hook up my camera and do it! Art on!

New look!

I am so excited to say that we are getting a new look on our blog! My friend Ellie is hookin' me up with some cool buttons and fabulous stuff. I will be posting some pics of a sign I just finished for my friends at Weichert Realty Paupack Group. I hope they like it...and order some more! This summer is going by so fast! I can't believe it's already July. Hoping things go as smoothly as they did in June! Anyway, going to the beach tomorrow...hope it's a good day....sunny and nice! So I will be posting some new stuff soon, and I am really trying to remember to BLOG! LOL! Art On!

Mind like a steel sive!

I will figure it all out....how to raise my son,paint, clean...etc. The painting part is easy. I just get an idea and go from there! I have 4 signs currently in the works...and a bag order to complete! It's all very surreal that I am actually doing what I love and people are giving me money for it. Go figure! Anyway..as I contemplate my "plan of action"...I am getting ready to ship my son off for a week with Mimi and Grumpy...his grandparents. I will be planted in my basement,especially on these days that are supposed to be 93 degrees outside, painting and enjoying the coolness of my studio. I will also be re-vamping my site here and hopefully adding some more pictures! Going to paint night and day to get these orders done and stock up for Sept. 8th's craft fair in the park! Wish me luck! Art on!

forgetting to blog!

I keep forgetting to do this...and I'm still learning the tricks to get noticed!  Thanks to EllieV I am going to be the best blogger ever!!! I just wish she could be here today!!!!  lol!  I need to learn the ropes!  Buttons on all these other blogs I want them too!  And then to comment on theirs to attach my link....I'mma get it soon! Plus I am going to be very busy, very soon!  lol...keep 'em crossed!

Doing it right

Hey there!  Sorry I wasn't on here for the weekend, but it's starting to get hectic in herya!!!  Nick's baseball games and practice are taking over...but it's all good.  I am starting to work on my second custom sign order for my friend's pool.  I'm so excited that it's finally going along....hope it stays steady!  Anyway, the lady I made to first sign for just loved it.  I delivered it to her and she really loved it!  That's a great feeling.  I get nervous that my work isn't as good as I thought it was.....but so far...so good.  It's Tuesday already...soon school will be out and then where will we be?  LOL....whew..atleast we have 2 months left. 

So I am going to be creating some new stuff, and finishing my Garden Angel soon.  I will post pics soon too.  Hoping to be ready to join a craft fair on the first of June...I didn't make it in time for the one this weekend, but I would like to check it out.  I need help thinking of a good display for my "store"!  Anyone have any ideas??  Leave my any ideas you might have for displaying signs, birdhouses and Garden Angels.  I would appreciate any ideas out there.  Also if anyone would like to go to the craft fair with me give me a shout!  It's Saturday and Sunday till 4...in Milford.

Signs...signs...everywhere are signs!

It's on now!  Just got an order for 2 more custom made signs!  And found out about another craft fair that I am checking into.  I think it's really starting to move now.  Wouldn't that be exciting??  How fun would it be to become the next "Gooseberry Patch" or "Country House"??  I love those catalogs...imagine the possibilities!  So todays plan is to measure and map out the new signs and deliver the one I finished.  Then I am trying to post on here everyday.  I missed yesterday but Nick was a super star in his baseball game last night!  All the Pirates were awesome!  But it sure is something when the other teams coach tells the outfielders to back up when your son comes up to bat!  He hit a homerun and 3 triples and made some outstanding plays in field that I was looking at him and thinking...."Who is this kid??".  Coach Keith would be so proud!  No Lego Star Wars talk this year!!!  LOL!

Anyway...I will be headed downstairs to work soon...my boss is a little "bossy" when it comes to clocking in!  LOL!

Ahhh the good old days

I can remember sitting around the painting table in my Aunt's attic studio.  We used to go atleast twice a week, I think, and there was about 4 or 5 of us learning to paint.  We would paint things like animals or flowers or eagles.  I painted this little girl with blonde pony tails once picking the petals off a daisy.  I think I still have it downstairs.  My Aunt was so patient.  I don't know how she did it with all the questions, because you know we had them, and all the talking, because you know we talked.  I laugh sometimes when I'm painting because I can hear her saying how to do it in my head!  I still go to visit my Aunt in Ohio and this summer I would love to sit and paint with her again.  She used to teach us one stroke.  And floating and all these technical techniques....all of which I wish I could remember.  Maybe I do and just don't know it?!  I love to paint.  It is very calming to me.  It is so easy for me to sit for hours and just paint away.  I am trying to rearrange my priorities so that I can get down there everyday.  It is my job anyway....so I should do it more than I have been doing it...don't ya think?  LOL! My only problem is that when I'm down in my studio all I can see is all the stuff I have to paint and I get side tracked!  FOCUS Melissa!  lol....Thanks Aunt Shelda!

Learning to Blog

I don't know how to do this.  Plain and simple.  I don't think my life is anything to write about, much less read.  I really like to create things...just don't know where to start this.  We just got back from vacation...the Tropical Island of Ohio.  Huh..I heard the laughs.  I laugh too.  But I love my in-laws!  As crazy as they are, they sure make you feel welcome.  And the food!  They have a wonderful restaurant Napoli's Italian Eatery in Canton, Ohio.  My son, Nicholas thinks he owns the place!  They all love him there.  Would do anything for him, and us.  We had a great time, if we didn't get sick it would have been better!

Now for this blogging thing....I am gonna give it a shot.  Just come and read this stuff and let me know how I'm doing!  I am also getting real serious on my crafting.  I am not going to be ready for the Mt. Haven craft show in 2 weeks, but I am rearranging my priority list and am not volunteering for a lot anymore, just so I can get downstairs and on here.  I hope I can get into this....because sometimes I can make sense.  Hahah...I said SOMETIMES!  Lol!  Enjoy the rest of this beautiful day!  Talk to you tomorrow!  Hopefully...if I remember!

Spring Fever!

I don't know about you, but I have Spring Fever!  I am sitting here planning my garden and designing a new sign for my entranceway.  I will post pics of my past gardens and some of this years garden when I get it done!  I will also be making handmade trellis' for my climbing plants.  I love to garden and can't wait to do it this year.  Hopefully the weather will stay nice and I will be out there soon.  Ahhhh (sigh of relief) just thinking about it is making me happy. :)

It's almost Spring!!!

Just wanted to let you all know that Spring is almost here!!!  YAY!  Lol!....Also if you were interested in the purple shawl it is no longer available....but if you want to order one all you have to do is tell me what color and I will make another one!  I am also open for sign sayings for Spring. I have garden sayings but I need more Springy ones.  My business cards should be here any day now!  And then I will be out placing them around town.  LOL....so wish me luck!
